Steel & Aluminium Can Sorting Line
To design, supply and install a sorting line to segregate steel & aluminium cans.
The can sorting line formed part of an overall relocation for Stevenage Borough Council, and was part of the council’s waste services improvement plan.
Included in the project scope was an inclined feed conveyor with a large floor mounted intake hopper, a horizontal top feed conveyor, an over band magnet for removal of steel (ferrous) cans (complete with discharge chute) and an Eddy Current Separator for removal of non-ferrous (aluminium) cans, with discharge chute.
GAME installed the clients own two current compactor units into the new line, each one being fed from one of the two discharge chutes.
GAME also supplied and installed the electrical controls for the new line.
The can sorting line now handles 20m3 per hour of mixed cans, with a segregation split of 4 to 1 aluminium to steel.» Return to previous page
