Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our team at Witham St Hugh’s, just south of Lincoln. Applicants are to have a proven track record of Project Engineering within the sectors we operate in and in-depth knowledge of mechanical material handling and processing is essential.

We are looking for an accountable individual to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

The Role

  • Working on projects up to £3 million
  • Assisting Project Managers and having the confidence to engineer a project from concept to completion
  • Ability to produce flow plans, layout designs, detailed manufacturing and installation drawings
  • To ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget
  • To visit project sites and carry out full surveys on existing plant and processes
  • The Project Engineer must ensure that all safety, environmental and legal requirements are fulfilled
  • To manage the site team
  • To manage the external contractors
  • Ordering materials and equipment

The Person

  • A broad base of technical knowledge and experience in mechanical material handling
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
  • Recognised trade qualification in mechanical engineering such as BTEC, HNC, or HND
  • Ability to get things done & follow jobs through to completion
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Capable of working under pressure and to deadlines
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • To be self-motivated, dealing with a variety of projects
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Inventor Professional
  • Advanced MS Office Skills
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Flexible approach to work with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Willing to travel nationally to meet the needs of the business
  • Full valid driving licence
